Clos Berenguer is a family Cellar located in the D.O.Q. Priorat that elaborates its own
You can find our Clos at the P.K. 8,3 in the T-734 road at your right, following the way to El Molar town. A path with cypress trees near to the Siurana River will take you to the Cellar. At that point, you'll contemplate the wonderful view of the Montsant mountains surrounded by vineyards.
Clos Berenguer knows the relevance of the vineyards because they are the mothers of the fruit of the grape, and theses grapes joining with the microclimate of the place, are the responsibility of a great wine.
These two points are the essence of great personality that enjoys the wines of D.O.Q. Priorat.
The vineyards of Clos Berenguer are faced from east to west and planted on two kinds of ground. Basically they are planted in a slated ground, and in a ground of calcareous nature. This fact makes possible some combinations in the wine that produce a diversity of sensations.
Not less important than the ground and the climate are the varieties that we cultivate in Clos Berenguer to elaborate the wines, red and white, currently named "vinos de finca". These varieties are indigenous, totally adapted to the earth and they show our personality and philosophy.
CLOS DE TAFALL SELECCIÓ DE VINYES
This wine is made by selecting all the vineyards of our property (22 hectares), thus obtaining a high-quality wine for our basic wine made for all people and general consumption. We make the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then move to make the malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels from 1 to 4 years where the wine remained for 12 months. The blend is Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon. Production of 35.000 bottles.
This wine is a selection of our more shadow areas of our property and blending our both soils one with licorell (black slate) and the clay and calcareous with galets roulés giving altogether another character at this wine.
Blend of Grenache Noir, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, is aged for 10 months in new French oak. The production is around 10.000 bottles per year.
CLOS BERENGUER BLANC DE BÓTES
Unique white wine of Clos Berenguer, processing is a fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then the malolactic fermentation is made in new French oak, where it will remain for 6 months. The blend is Garnacha Blanca, Pedro Ximenez, and Xarel·lo. Production: 2,000 bottles.
CLOS BERENGUER SELECCIÓ
Wine made from a single vineyard old grapes of Grenache and Carignan located in the town of Bellmunt del Priorat, the wine is filled with the best selection of grapes from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the property. After the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the malolactic fermentation is made in new French oak barrels, where the wine also completed his ageing for about 14 months. The blend is Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Production: 4,000 bottles.
CLOS BERENGUER SELECCIÓ SYRAH
Second Cuvée of the property, in this case, we select the best Syrah grapes from two concrete vineyards with different characteristics, extreme viticulture is made to extract the maximum of this variety. We make the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, after we make the malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels of two selected tonnelleries of Burgundy and we keep ageing the wine dor a 15 months. Single varietal Syrah. Production 1000 bottles.
CLOS BERENGUER FINCA LES SORTS CS
First Cuvée of the property is a single varietal wine produced from our vineyard of Les Sorts, the wine is carried to the extreme by giving the full range and complexity of expression, the alcoholic fermentation is made in stainless steel tanks after the malolactic fermentation is made in French oak casks from two selected tonnelleries, one in Bordeaux and one in Burgundy, the ageing during about 15 months. Single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon. Production 1000 bottles.
Clos Berenguer ED
It's Our first cult wine, a personal proposal that we want to do, the wine is made by the hand selection grape by grape of the best parts of a three single plots of the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Samsó (Carignan), after the alcoholic fermentation, the wine remains in cask ageing in new French oak for 15 months, and spent 10 months more in the bottle before to put on the market.
This wine is the maximum expression of the blend of these three varieties, a powerful wine who expressed the soil of Priorat with the best concentration of fruit of three different grapes.
Production: 600 bottles.
