Our winery was founded in 1969 as a family business. In 1999it took on the name Hermanos Frías Del Val (frías Del Val Brothers) a generation takeover, turning it into a winery that does to combine its traditional care of the vineyard with a very unique production style.
As a result of the good care we have taken of the vineyards and the production and aging of our wines, we have received numerous awards and acknowledgements in different national and international competitions, as well as high ratings in different specialist magazines.
The winery can hold 270.000 l. and also 25Ha of its own controlled vineyard with vines that are more than 100 years old and varieties of 90% Tempranillo grapes, 6% Viura grapes, 3% Malvasia grapes and 1% of others available by means of the traditional head-prined system.
DON PEDUZ BLANCO
This is a selection of the total property where we take only the best plots of the white vineyards. The wine is fermented in steel tanks and after is bottled to refine.
The most important of this wine is the characteristic of the different soils used to produce it. Every soil is different and only they have a comun characteristic that all of them are very poor.
The age of the vines used are 55 years old. 60% Viura 40% Malvasia
The winery carefully selects the best vineyards and, after the grape harvest, the best grapes to produce this wine by the traditional method of carbonic maceration. It is a beautiful deep cherry red colour with violet hues on the rim.
On the nose it is powerful but delicate with a suggestive perfume abundant in notes of mature red fruit such as raspberries, blackberries and cherries. It also has floral and spicy liquorice notes with a hint of dairy.
It has a light entry into the mouth and a good roundness. It is warm and abundant in pleasant fruity flavours with a delicate liquorice base. Its final persistence is very aromatic and pleasing, as the complex sensations on the nose appear again.
HNOS. FRÍAS DEL VAL VIÑA EL FLAKO
This wine is from a single old vineyard (75 years old) the vineyard was one of the first that the brothers Frias del Val and its name is a nickname of one of them.
The wine is fermented in cask (100% French oak) and is aged fo a 6 months, we like to express the maximum expresion of the old white vines.
70% Viura 30% Malvasia
HNOS. FRÍAS SELECCIÓN PERSONAL
Attractive dark cherry red in colour with a purple sparkling rim that denotes its good aging. On the nose it is reminiscent of a complex and subtle wine with intense aromas. It is very delicate with hints of dairy that seem united with the aromas of red berries (strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry) with mineral, floral and soothing notes, as well as cocoa and milky coffee-flavoured sweet aromas.
In the mouth it is smooth, warm and powerful with a sweet fruitiness, strongly perfumed with notes of cocoa, minerals, dairy products; on its last taste in the mouth the milky coffee- flavoured sweet takes centre stage.
With its powerful sensations, this full-bodied wine has a perfumed finish and a very good structure.
HNOS. FRÍAS DEL VAL RESERVA
This wine is made by the strict selection of some of our vineyards, only the best grapes are used to produce this wine. The elaboration is made in tanks and after remain in the cask of a new French oak during 15 months, and the rest of time is remaining in the bottle until finish the two years that this wine need to means Reserva.
HNOS. FRIAS DEL VAL EXPERIENCIA
This wine is fruit of the best grapes in the Tempranillo variety picked in our oldest vineyards, carefully looked after during production and meticulously aged in the wine cellar. The essence and maximum expression of our good care is embodied in this wine.
It has an intense, clean and brilliant colour with a nicely mixed, complex and elegant aroma with great aromatic expressivity. In the mouth it is voluminous, fleshy, balanced and persistent.
